What You Should Know About Word of The Cross
The key objective of Word of The Cross is to preach the pure Gospel message of Christ and him crucified: marveling at His holiness, treasuring His grace, and glorifying Him in all we do. We seek to devote ourselves individually and corporately to prayer, worship, and studying God’s Word. Why? Because His love for us revealed through the Cross has caused us to love Him. It is our heart’s longing to be a people who truly know and love God, and who demonstrate that love to the world around us.
Life in The Spirit
As a Christian, we have a great need and desire for the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit in our midst. The Spirit counsels us, comforts us, and convicts us of sin. He guides us into the truth. He opens our eyes to the significance of Christ’s death on the Cross. He gives us power to overcome temptation and live righteously in obedience to God’s Word, we seek to “live by the Spirit,” crucifying the flesh daily depending on Him to make us like Jesus Christ.
Common Purpose
In order to move forward, a church’s members must agree on its mission. Without a common purpose, the simplest task can be a challenge. The vision of Word of The Cross is to glorify God through the proclamation and demonstration of the gospel of Jesus Christ through the Message of the Cross. We want to see each member established in sound doctrine, growing in godly character, developing authentic relationships and involved in practical service.
Sound Doctrine
We treasure the Bible as God’s inspired Word and gladly submit to its authority. We’re convinced it is completely sufficient to guide us in all areas related to our faith and daily human life. There is no need for any other book, plan, or program that can guide a believer better than the Word of God. Understanding what the Bible teaches about various subjects – otherwise known as doctrine – is of critical importance for the Christian life. That’s why we seek to grow in our knowledge of God’s Word through Sunday worship services, Wednesday group Bible lessons, and personal study.
Evangelism
Luke 19 states that “Jesus came to seek and to save the lost”. The passion and commitment of Word The Cross is to represent the Savior by telling others the true gospel story. This wonderful “Message of the Cross” powerfully changes lives, and it is our privilege to regularly share this with the community around us.
